Hebrews 11:6
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
When you are going through a trial, who do you pray to? Up until that trial in your life came your way, you may have proclaimed there is no God or at least you paid no attention to the question of who God was or if He really existed or not. Yet the very second a severe trial comes, God appears in the forefront of your mind. Maybe not the God of the Judeo-Christian faith, but a God of something. Why do we naturally turn to something beyond ourselves when faced with a difficult challenge in life?
It is wired deep into our DNA to do so.
But if we could pause long enough in the midst of our trials and consider which God should we put our faith in, we would at least have to give all gods a chance to compete for our hearts and minds.
Will God be made of earthly materials? Will God be the sun, moon or stars? Will God be one of the many religions? Or what will you give your faith away to? Regardless of what God you choose, it or they or He, will require a piece of your heart and mind, for you must make a conscience decision to choose. Remember faith is:
Hebrews 11:1
11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
So, when you face a challenge in your life that causes you to give away your most precious treasure: your faith, I ask to whom will you give it to? And ask yourself, why?
Just a thought…
