Hebrews 11:3
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
Romans 1:20
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made, so they are without excuse.
Psalms 8:3-4
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him
and the son of man that you care for him?
This morning as I read these passages and contemplated the world’s view of how life began or how the universe was created, their theories became more absurd to me. The Big Bang theory wants us to believe that all we have today is from the random acts of molecules colliding or the creation of earth is explained by volcanic gasses.
I concede that I wouldn’t last 5 seconds in a room of great scientists in an educational debate. However, I would only ask one question that would need to be answered before I would give in to their belief. The question is who or how was the very first molecule created? For there is always a cause before an effect, yet who or how was the very first cause created?
That’s all I’ve got.
For me, the leap of faith it would take to believe that a new born baby, a sunset, blue skies, love, hatred, mankind, the animal kingdom, etc. was the outcome of random acts of molecules, is foolishness.
Furthermore, if all we see was the result of randomness and the earth is 4.5 billion years old while the universe is 23.8 billion years old, why have we not seen more change? Who stopped the development of the earth? Who sets the boundaries?
I’m sorry. I can’t get there without God, without a creator.
Then the new question arises, if there is a God then what?
