Hebrews 12:2
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
What was this joy that was set before Him that gave Him enough strength to endure being crucified? What did He see?
He saw that His children would be forgiven of their sins forever.
He saw that He had a way in which His children could be reunited with Him.
He saw how His children could be free once again of religion.
He saw how the hearts of His children could be filled.
He saw Satan being defeated once and for all.
He saw the relationship with His children being restored.
He saw the end of time on earth for everything was leading up to this day, and it was on this day that He will prove that He was the Son of God and that His father would be glorified.
If He could endure such pain for us with a joy-filled heart, what joy can we find when we deny ourselves in order to glorify Him?
