God says, “Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.” But what is this faith? What does it look like? Feel like?
As I pray, I lay my requests out before God:
Lord, heal someone. Fix this. Restore that. Bless him or her or me. Comfort us. Give us peace, rest, joy, and contentment. I need this or remove that. Change them or change the circumstances. Forgive me or them. Why or why not?
Related to faith: Is it in the answers to these prayers where mountains get moved? Or is it in the ability to let go of these prayers through the confidence in the God we submit them to?
God knows and cares enough to deal with these prayers in a way that manifests His loving character. His very desire from day one has been to love us, provide for us, and for us to love one another. In this spirit, any answer, every answer or no at answer at all to our prayers is the right answer, for God is always good.
As soon as I let go and trust Him, the mountain begins to move.
Who knows? Maybe the mountain never moved because I was holding back all this time. Just let go!
Psalms 5:3:
3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.
