Psalms 141:8
8 But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord;
in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death.
Fix your eyes upon Jesus. How do you do that? When you fix your eyes upon something, you stare, focus, gaze, concentrate on a physical thing. So how do I fix my eyes on Jesus in this world?
I see things as Jesus does: creation as being amazing, people as being miraculous, animals as being outrageous signs of creativity.
I see people in need of a Savior.
I see the church as the hope of the world.
I see the beauty of sunsets and flowers.
I see friends, family, jobs, food, clothing and shelter as gifts.
I see opportunities to serve others.
I see the tasks before me as small and not threatening as I filter them through the power of Christ.
I no longer fear going out into the world but go with anticipation and excitement. I go knowing Jesus goes with me.
How cool is that to have the Almighty God walking ahead and beside you?
Consider if you were walking with a famous person — people might look your way with envy. Well, to be walking with Almighty God at your side, the all-powerful, the all-loving, the all-knowing, the almighty. How big would the strut in your step be? How wide your smile? How peaceful your heart?
Where will you fix your eyes today?
What will you see?
