Consider a world where everyone follows the ways of Jesus Christ.
Now picture its effect on the business economy.
No divorce means no need for divorce lawyers.
No drugs, murder, prostitution, gambling, bars, liquor stores or porn means no police, courts, jails or prisons.
No hunger; each person will take care of the other.
No contracts; there would be no disputes.
Therapists would not be needed.
Medical treatment would be reduced by half — no addictions, starvation or assaults to treat.
No credit cards or debt management would be needed.
No security either, since no theft exist.
No gambling, no casinos.
No hatred, no betrayal, no gouging.
Satan has a major financial enterprise at stake, so he will fight aggressively.
Acts 19:23-29
The Riot in Ephesus
23 About that time there arose a great disturbance about the Way. 24 A silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought in a lot of business for the craftsmen there. 25 He called them together, along with the workers in related trades, and said: “You know, my friends, that we receive a good income from this business. 26 And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in practically the whole province of Asia. He says that gods made by human hands are no gods at all.27 There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited; and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty.”
28 When they heard this, they were furious and began shouting: “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!” 29 Soon the whole city was in an uproar. The people seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul’s traveling companions from Macedonia, and all of them rushed into the theater together.
So, the battle rages on. Satan fights to keep his business, and God fights for His. Yet Satan refuses to acknowledge he will ultimately lose. He fights with deception, greed, power, lust, and selfishness, but God fights with truth, love, peace, patience, and kindness.
Galatians 5:19-25
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
We are all soldiers, and the question remains: Whose team will you be on?
