Once and For All

Hebrews 9:25-26

25 Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. 26 Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Why do we need to come to God daily? It is not to receive forgiveness of our sins. No, He has done this when He died on the cross. He forgave past, present, and future sins.

We come to God daily to be reminded of the fact that He died so that we could be forgiven. We come to renew our mind and cleanse it from the daily influence of Satan’s schemes to derail us from our faith. We come to be reminded of how much God loves us. We come to be reminded that we serve an almighty and powerful God. We come to be strengthened and filled back up to do His will.

So, we don’t come in shame and guilt, but we come purposefully seeking his kingdom first.

Confession is not a means to receive God’s forgiveness, for this was done already. Confession is a matter of molding our hearts to be free to accept His forgiveness, to be humbled by the great gift He has given us.

So, as you awake this morning, reach for your bible, close your eyes in prayer, get down on your knees all with excitement to be renewed, refilled, refreshed, restored, re-engaged to your loving Father, and to wait expectantly to be blessed.

Psalms 5:3

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
    in the morning I lay my requests before you
    and wait expectantly.
