Deuteronomy 8:2 (NIV)
2 Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
James 1 :2-3 (NIV)
Trials and Temptations
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Lord test me, I have never said those word.
In fact, I fear being tested for I don’t think I can pass such a test. I see that you’re not testing my ability but my faith. I fear not passing the test for my faith is in me not you.
If my faith is in you then I can know you can deliver me through trials of all kinds and I can actually find a pure joy within.
Test me Lord is not about my strength it’s about trusting you.
I don’t know of any biblical characters that asked to be tested. Why is that if the reward is joy and confidence and perseverance?
Test me Lord is a confusing set of words.
Test me Lord to see if I trust you. In order for me to trust you I have to surrender all of me. There is nothing in me that contributes to the success of overcoming the trial except full surrender.
Test me Lord has a temptation for me to puff my chest, but this is not where I need to be. Rather, I should feel such joy watching you Lord be victorious and receive the Glory. When my heart reaches this point then I’m ready to say test me Lord every day that you may be praised.
